Ways to Get Inovled with GVPAP
-
Paintouts
Paintouts are regularly scheduled painting sessions held throughout the year. Depending on the season, they may take place on weekdays, weekends, or evenings. Members actively participate in these events, contribute to GVPAP activities, and showcase their work in juried, competitive art shows.
-
Annual Show
The Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters host an annual juried art show featuring original plein air paintings created throughout our region. The competitive exhibit showcases the work of member artists, is judged by respected professionals in the field, and is free and open to the public. Most works are available for purchase.
-
Workshops
GVPAP workshops offer artists a chance to learn new techniques, explore different mediums, and refine their plein air painting skills. Led by experienced instructors such as Chris Kolupski, Maureen Church, and Judy Soprano, these sessions may include demonstrations, hands-on practice, and personalized feedback. Workshops are open to painters of all levels.
-
Painting Trips
GVPAP members enjoy extended painting trips to scenic locations such as the Finger Lakes, the Adirondacks, and Monhegan Island. These trips offer time to immerse in the landscape, paint alongside fellow artists, and find inspiration in new surroundings. They’re a great opportunity for artistic growth, connection, and creative renewal.
-
Self Juried Shows
GVPAP also hosts self-juried shows, where participating members select and display their own work. These exhibits offer artists the freedom to showcase pieces that best represent their individual style and growth, while providing the public with a diverse and personal look at plein air painting.
